The theory behind EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) is that all emotional upsets are caused by disturbances in the body’s energy system. Correct the disturbance, and the emotional upset clears. This doesn’t mean that you won’t feel any emotion - it means you have a tool to neutralise excessive emotion.

Ok, give me some examples

Let’s assume you’re terrified of snakes. Whenever you see a snake you feel so scared you scream and run. After using EFT you may get to the point where you can bear to look at a snake without feeling scared. You’ll still probably be cautious around snakes as you never know if they’re harmful or not. EFT gets rid of the fear but leaves the common sense in place!

Or perhaps there might be a traumatic experience in your past that is very distressing to you. If you use EFT, you’ll find that you can still remember the incident but the emotional charge behind the event is gone. You can recall the incident without feeling upset.

How can EFT help me?

EFT can be used on absolutely anything. From fights with your spouse, getting rid of addictions, losing weight, boosting self esteem, improving relationship, reduce pain, increase energy, eliminate fears and phobias….. the list is endless.

What do you have to do?

You just have to gently tap on certain acupuncture points whilst focusing on your problem.  You use affirmations to do this.

Does it hurt?

No, not at all.  You tap gently - no needles or pain involved!

How long does it last?

Usually results are permanent.

Can I do it by myself?

Yes, but it’s usually helpful to enlist the help of a professional to help you get to the root of your problems.  This can be done in person, by phone and even by email.
