Email Anxiety and EFT
Posted under Podcasts, Questions and Answers by adminI recently received an email from a lady called Jo about email anxiety and whether that can be helped with EFT. Here’s the letter…..
I’m beginning to dread logging on to my computer to see my emails. I put off checking them at work because it always seems to be full with people wanting me to do things. I already have a full in-tray and yet there’s more things stressing me in my in-box. Can you help?
Jo
EFT is great for dealing with all sorts of anxieties and phobias and email anxiety is not an exception.
With everyone using email instead of the regular post system, it’s not uncommon to have anxiety about opening up your mail box. Whether that’s your own personal box or your work system sometimes it can just seem too much sometimes – there’s spam to go through and people always wanting something from you (and they want it now!!).
We’re going to work through an EFT sequence that will take the emotion out of opening your mail box. First of all you need to acquaint yourself with EFT Tapping points and for this exercise we’re only going to be using the body points (not the hand ones).
Start by tapping on the Karate Chop point and say the following:
“Even though I really, really don’t want to see what’s in my mail box, I completely and deeply love and accept myself”
Continue tapping the Karate Chop and say:
“Even though opening my mail box fills me with dread and I hate this feeling, I completely and deeply love and accept myself”
Still tapping on the Karate Chop, now say:
“Even though I’m very anxious about my emails I love and accept myself anyway”
Now starting at the Eyebrow point tap and say “this email anxiety”. Tap this short saying on all of the body points ending at under arm then repeat again from the eyebrow point.
Do you feel happier about those emails waiting for you? Repeat the whole sequence again from tapping the Karate Chop point and feel your anxiety drop.
You can repeat this short session as often as you need. If you find your anxiety hasn’t dropped at all, don’t worry. Just email me and we can investigate some other phrases to get you mailbox happy!
Kind regards
Lyn Thurman
